Mike Steele and Jeff Lee started Mountain View Acres after both had hunted on public grounds for many years. Once Mike’s son and daughter became interested in hunting, he decided to buy his own birds to raise as a way to get them involved in the whole hunting experience. In 2005, Mike bought 50 birds. That first year, 30 birds were hunted – mostly by family and close friends – and Mike sold the remaining 20.

Mountain View Acres remained a non-commercial hunting ground until 2007 when the property was turned into a commercial hunting ground. Since then, Mountain View Acres has hosted numerous private and corporate groups.

In 2020, Jeff Lee retired from partnership at Mountain View Acres. Jeff however, continues to guide. Replacing Jeff in the partnership was Mike Hucik. Mike has been a guide since 2012.
