Hunts

Mountain View Acres offers hunts in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations.

Hunting season begins the first Saturday in September and ends the last Saturday of April.

Pheasant hunts are NOT permitted on Sundays.

Dog training is available!

Upon scheduling your hunt, you can purchase Pheasants, Chukars or Hungarian Partridge in unlimited quantities at the following rates:

• Pheasants $30.00
• All Rooster Hunt $35.00
• Chukars $15.00
• Hungarian Partridge $25.00

*A minimum order of 5 birds per hunt is required*

Mountain View Acres can provide guides and dogs at a rate of $50.00 per half day hunt.  Gratuity not included.

Hunts will consist of no more than 5 hunters per group. For larger parties, additional guides and dogs will be required to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable hunt.

• Hunting licenses are not required.
• Hunters MUST wear an orange hat and 250 square inches of additional orange.
• There are no bag limits.
• Roosters and Hens can be harvested.
• Birds will be released 50/50 Hen/Rooster.
• Alcohol is NOT permitted before or during hunts.
• Hunters are expected to participate in a safety briefing prior to all hunts.
• All hunters must sign a Waiver of Liability.
• Hunters may bring their own dogs.

On the day of your hunt, you will be greeted by skilled guides at our ground’s office.

After your hunt, feel free to relax and relive the day’s hunt while your game is cleaned and packaged for your trip home. We offer bird cleaning at $3.00 per (breasted) bird.

Lunch can be provided – at an additional fee – for both morning and afternoon hunts. Hunters are welcome to dine outside (weather permitting) or inside. Morning hunters will be served lunch at 12:00 p.m. Afternoon hunters will be served at 11:00 a.m.
